The 90's

1990:

The boys team finished with 5 wins and 4 losses, the 2nd winning season in a row. The school fielded its 1st ever full varsity girls team and finished with a record of 4 wins and 1 loss, losing on a tiebreaker to Haddonfield. The boys team finished 3rd at the County Meet, while the girls placed 2nd. The girls team finished 5th at the South Jersey Group 2 Sectional Meet, 11th at the State Group 2 Meet and finished as the first XC team in school history to finished ranked in South Jersey at #17. Jim Dorsett earned 2nd Team All Conference and All County honors. Lauren Smith earned 2nd Team All County and 1st Team All Conference and All South Jersey Group 2 honors. Danielle Kinsley earned 1st Team All County, All Conference and All South Jersey Group 2 honors. Catherine Kinsley earned 1st Team All Conference (2nd straight year as Conference Champion), All County and All South Jersey. She also became the first XC runner from WDHS to qualify for the Meet of Champions.

 

1991:

The boys team finished with 5 wins and 4 losses but qualified for the State Group 2 Meet for the 1st time in school history. The boys finished 3rd in the County Meet, 5th at the South Jersey Group 2 Meet and 11th at the State Group 2 Meet. The girls team finished with 6 wins and 1 loss and finished 2nd at the County Meet, 4th at the South Jersey Group 2 Sectional Meet and 10th at the State Group 2 Meet. Catherine Kinsley earned 1st team All South Jersey, All County, and All Conference honors. She was the Conference Champion for the 3rd straight year and finished 25th at the Meet of Champions. Danielle Kinsley earned 1st Team All Conference, All County and All South Jersey Group 2 honors. Lauren Smith earned 2nd Team All County and All Conference honors along with Craig Campagno.

 

1992:

The boys team finished with 5 wins and 4 losses. The girls team had 3 wins and 3 losses. The girls team qualified for the State Group Meet for the 3rd year in a row. Danielle Kinsley earned 1st Team All-Colonial Conference honors. Gary Timmons was named 2nd Team All-Colonial Conference.

 

1993:

The boys and girls teams both finished the season at 6 wins and losses. Aaron Kinsley was named 1st Team All-Colonial Conference. Danielle Kinsley also earned 1st Team All-Colonial Conference honors. Kristy Hicks earned 2nd Team All-Colonial Conference honors.

 

1994:

The boys finished the season with a record of 8 wins and 2 losses. Josh Brown was named 2nd Team All-Colonial Conference. Aaron Kinsley was 1st Team All-Colonial Conference and set the home course record of 16:54.

 

1995:

Coach Larry "B" Beversluis decides to hang up his whistle and coaching shorts after a long and storied career. His last team finishes with 6 wins and 3 losses. The team finished 4th at the Gloucester County Meet. Josh Brown was named 2nd Team All-Colonial Conference. Aaron Kinsley, perhaps the greatest distance runner in WDHS history, finishes his career as the Gloucester County Meet Champion, 1st Team All-Colonial Conference, 1st Team All South Jersey and also sets the home course record of 16:38.

 

1996:

New Head Coach is Brian Loving. The boys finish the season with 8 wins and 2 losses. Josh Brown, Andy Burness and John Way all are named to the 2nd Team All-Colonial Conference.

 

1997:

The boys team finished with 8 wins and 2 losses. Andy Burness was named 1st Team All-Colonial Conference. Charlie Smith was named 2nd Team All-Colonial Conference. John Way finished 12th at both the SJ Sophomore Meet and the Cherokee Challenge.

 

1998:

The boys team finished with a record of 7 wins and 4 losses and finished 5th at the Gloucester County Meet. Charlie Smith was named 1st Team All-Colonial Conference.

 

1999:

New Head Coach is Bob Byatt.  The boys finished the season with 11 wins and 3 losses. The team was 5th at the Eastern States Championships, 2nd at the Gloucester County Meet, 5th at the South Jersey Group 3 Sectional Meet, and 17th at the State Group 3 Meet. James Johnson earned 1st Team All County honors after placing 2nd Overall at the Gloucester County Meet. He also was named 1st Team All-Colonial Conference. John Way was named 2nd Team All-Colonial Conference.
