About Me

Hello! My name is Mrs. Starr Everwine (previously Marz) and I am a Special Education Teacher who teaches Science at West Deptford High School. I completed my undergraduate degree at Gloucester County College (now RCSJ) and then transferred to Rutgers University in Camden where I earned my degree in Psychology along with my teaching certificates. I just graduated from Rowan University in May 2023 where I completed my Master's Degree in Special Education with a concentration in Learning Disabilities. I will be continuing my education this year to finish out my schooling to become a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant.

I am so excited to start another school year at my alumni! This will be my 10th year at WDHS and my 11th year as a teacher. I previously taught self-contained at Clearview Middle School.
This year I am teaching ICR Biology and ICR Physical Science alongside Mrs. Elliott, Mrs. Castone, and Ms. Kountz. I have taught resource room and ICR sciences including Environmental, Physical Science, and Biology. I also teach in the afternoon at our Alternative Science Special Education program. I am huge on communication so please feel free to reach out anytime you want to check in. You will hear from me a lot! Besides the classroom, I am a co-advisor for our Young Women Leaders Program and the Class of 2025.

I have 2 wonderful kids, Trent (6) and Riess (5) and two French Bulldogs named Fifi (4) and Luca (2)! Trent will be starting First Grade and Riess will be starting Kindergarten. We live in West Deptford so I am sure you will see us around town between sports or food shopping! My husband's name is Erik and we have been married for 7 years. I love to read, workout, go to the beach, be outside, and fun things with my family. I just did my first ever Triathlon this past summer at the Philly Woman's Tri and then I completed Tri the Woods in August so that was a huge accomplishment I checked off my list!

I am really looking forward to this school year. I am always here to support you so please do not hesitate to reach out! Working as a team between home and school is truly a recipe for success.
